On the heels of its most successful conference in 2010, Venture Atlanta will be returning to the world-renowned Georgia Aquarium with a new roster of dynamic Georgia-based technology companies, the Company noted in a release.
The conference will be held on October 25 - 26, and will feature an expanded two-day program. Venture Atlanta's mission continues to be a primary hub in the Southeast connecting technology innovation and investment capital.
In a release, the group said that Venture Atlanta draws a large audience of top-tier venture capitalists, angel investors, investment bankers, entrepreneurs, services firms, and technology executives and provides a platform for Georgia's entrepreneurs seeking capital. In just the past two years almost $150 million has been raised by Venture Atlanta alumni presenters including recent announcements by Quofore, Solo-Health, Scoutmob, and BLiNQ Media.
"Venture Atlanta continues to be a driving factor in economic development and growth in our state, across diverse industries including internet and enterprise software, healthcare IT, clean tech, wireless, e-payments, and security," said Glenn McGonnigle, partner, TechOperators, and this year's conference chair. "Our goal is to give each presenting company the necessary tools and introductions to help raise the capital needed to grow their businesses; and, just as importantly, to provide a showcase for investors looking for the best in innovation the state has to offer. If you are an investor looking for viable, fundable deals the annual Venture Atlanta Conference should be on your calendar."
Event founders, the Atlanta CEO Council, the Metro Atlanta Chamber, and the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG), expect this to be the largest event in the organization's history and are confident that recent expansion in the show's format and outreach, including an expanded two-day schedule and a new website design, will benefit both attendees and presenters. The updated website (ventureatlanta.org), in particular, will serve as a year-round resource for both investors and entrepreneurs: a new monthly e-newsletter and informative blog, in addition to a web resource center and a community calendar, will ensure the Georgia business community continues to connect and stay informed on national venture deals, money raised, and entrepreneurial activity.
Many of last year's sponsors including Grant Thornton and TriNet have already signed on to support the 2011 event. For sponsorship opportunities: ventureatlanta.org.
