WA:WA's IR changes won't be radical; O'Brien
West Australian Commerce Minister SIMON O'BRIEN has ruled any radical overhaul of the
state's industrial relations system, although he says there will be some changes.
MARCIA KUHNE from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Western Australia says many
of its members are unhappy about the government's inaction and there's a great level of
confusion between state IR laws and the federal government Fair Work legislation.
Western Australia is the only state not to sign up to the national workplace relations
system, however Mr O'BRIEN says the government is now seeking to harmonise some aspects
of the legislation.
